What should I wear for winter activities in Lapland?

To stay warm and comfortable during winter activities in Lapland, it is important to dress in layers. We recommend wearing thermal base layers, a warm mid-layer such as fleece or wool, insulated winter trousers, thick socks, a hat, gloves, and waterproof winter boots. Layering helps regulate body temperature and keeps you comfortable in Arctic conditions.

Many winter tours in Sodankylä, including Northern Lights hunting, ice fishing, and snowshoeing experiences, provide thermal overalls and winter gear for additional warmth. Always check the tour inclusions before your activity.

With the right clothing, you can comfortably enjoy the beauty of Finnish Lapland even when temperatures drop below freezing.
